Lights can also be placed in patios, decks and around pools to create an ideal setting for entertaining.

There are all sorts of lights that can fit into these functions. However, back lights need to be diffuse lighting that projects the colors and shapes of the part of the garden you want to show off. Lighting on decks and patios also needs to be strong but concentrated so that it won’t provide glare.

Outdoor landscaping lighting for special occasions can be temporary system. A great way to create an enchanted garden look is to decorate trees with party light or even bamboo lanterns. If you live in warmer climates, lighting that puts out insect repellent as they burn are also a good idea. Many of these lighting systems are fairly cheap and you can try different varieties in different locations in the yard. If you get a new feature you could play around with the lighting to make the garden look as interesting at night as it does during the day.
